How can lines that show direction be used to create images?
1st grade observed several pictures of cityscape and made an observation list of the lines, shapes, and juicy details. Since they just did a lesson on vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines, they had fun spotting them in the cityscape examples.
Students first drew their cityscapes, applying the various types of lines they learned about in the previous lesson, then they watercolored their juicy details!
These are adorable. I have a question: did they cut them out after painting and mount on black paper? What did you use that shows up so bright white for the stars etc?
ReplyDeleteMorning Phyl,
ReplyDeleteThey did cut the sky out after painting and mounted them on black paper. The stars are Crayola Gel FX markers and silver sharpie. Thanks for asking!
I love these, I hope you don't mind me using this wonderful idea with my students. They are learning about shelters. Anna:)
